A 100-ft Abseil
The Trident also offers the adventure option of Abseiling the 100-ft Vulcan Rock, an impressive rock formation that juts right into the Volta River from the mountains forming the Akwamu Gorge. A boat ride is the only way to access the Rock, which is located around the bend of the river from the Akosombo Dam itself, and the abseiling adventure costs 631-GHS/adult and 440-GHS/child.
What the abseil entails
After check-in at the reception of the Trident, Abseilers will be guided to put on the requisite helmets, harnesses, karabiners and vests. The next step is a 3km boat ride to the Vulcan Rock for the abseil. The 100-ft drop requires going over the dizzying edge, leaning back and negotiating with the rocks, and trusting gravity to do the rest. A great spirit of adventure is required for this abseil 🙂
